ABOUT FIE EIKE​

Fie Eike is a composer, songwriter and producer, born and raised in Denmark, to Norwegian parents. Based in Copenhagen, she creates melodic and atmospheric songs and playful instrumental compositions with a deep emotional imprint infused with curious playfulness and Nordic sophistication and mystery.

The songs and compositions are often driven by Fie Eike’s vocal with great emotional depth and elasticity, piano, electronic elements and field recordings from nature. The result is a soundscape that moves between art-pop, electronica and jazz with a post-classical undertone.

The atmosphere of the soundscape is often informed by experiences and childhood memories from nature, especially the Danish forests, the coastline of The North Sea and the fjords and mountain landscapes of Norway. Fie Eike also captures this atmosphere in photographs and other artwork, and the visual expression is an integral part and extension of her writing and composition process. 

 

Beyond songs and instrumental compositions, Fie Eike also creates sound installations for art exhibitions. Her work often explores the relationship between humans and nature, and how a deeper and more meaningful connection to nature can inspire and inform greater care for both natural and human ressources. Through music and sound, Fie Eike seeks to create a musical space for feeling and embracing all our deepest and most profound longings and emotions, in order to assume a clearer form and connect more deeply to ourselves and others.

Fie Eike studied classical piano for 10 years from the age of 6, starting with 7 years via the Suzuki method. She never learned to read music, but learned to play by ear and to listen. This informed a strong musical intuition that was instrumental when she started writing songs and composing small classical pieces at 11. 

Fie Eike holds a Masters Degree in Law, and after her studies, she moved to London, where she formed a live band together with other musicians and was an active part of the city’s vibrant music scene.

After returning to Copenhagen, Fie Eike started working on her debut solo-album. The first singles from the album have garnered attention from taste makers such as The Line of Best Fit, Earmilk, Notion, Rolling Stone (India), Atwood Magazine, Norway's ballade.no and in Denmark by Bands of Tomorrow and Danish National Radio DR P2.

Fie Eike will release her debut album in November 2024. The album has received support from KODA Kultur, the Danish Musicians' Union and Danish Artist Association.
